4 of 5 employees satisfied with their Boss
Over 80% of employees in Switzerland have, on the whole, a good relationship with their supervisor. This means the first position in a survey carried out all over Europe by jobs.ch and « The Network ». Especially noticeable: the other two representatives of DACH region, Germany and Austria, occupy the last two places.
On the podium next to Switzerland, we can find France and the Netherlands.
Across Europe, most of the employees are quite satisfied with their Bosses: on average, 70% claim to have a « good overall » relationship with their supervisors. The remaining 30% on the contrary complain about their « upwards » relationship. In two thirds of these round 30%, it really hurts: they literally suffer from the relationship and would want another Boss. The concerned people report that their work is affected by the bad atmosphere at the workplace.
Switzerland number one
In Switzerland, 80% of employees have a good relationship with their supervisors against barely 19% a bad one. Only 7% would like another supervisor – this number is not lower in any other country. For the German-speaking neighbours of Switzerland, these figures are however by far the highest: 24% in Germany suffer from their supervisors and in Austria, a good 20%. A possible reason for the top position of Switzerland comes from an earlier survey of jobs.ch and « The Network », in which the information revealed that the Swiss are very satisfied with their work-life balance.
« The results show very clearly two things », said Michel Kaufmann, deputy CEO of JobCloud AG, which among others runs the online job market jobs.ch. « From the job seekers perspective, it is important to gather generally during the application process as much insight as possible in the team, the management style and the company. For the employers, it is on the other side of the highest interest to recognize that the relationship with the supervisor is a central criterion for the good people to stay in the company – or not. »

In the survey recently carried out by « The Network », more than 5600 employees coming from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium were questioned about their relationship with their supervisors.
